Monday 31 2008

Today I made a difference when my friend got hurt and he had to go to sickbay and I walked him there and wrote his name in the log for him because he had a hurt hand. I also waited with him while he was getting an ice-pack because he would have felt bored waiting by himself. I know that I made a difference because my friend thanked me after he finished in the sickbay.
I felt good that I made a difference and because good friends are hard to come by and I am glad that I was being one. I think that he felt as if he could count on me and I know this because he said that I was a good friend.

Sunday 30 March

Today I made a difference when my little brothers bike had a loose wheel I knew I could fix it but normally I would wait for my dad to do it but I took initiative and did it myself. I know I made a difference because my brother was very happy that I fixed his bike and I felt good that I made a difference in his life.
Saturday 29 march

Today I made a difference when the TV in my living room stopped working we have both Indian channels and normal TV they both wouldn't work together so we had choice between them so the Indian channels is the only thing my grandma watches so i chose Indian channels even if it meant not watching TV for a day or so. I felt good that I put my grandma before myself. I think my grandma was very happy that I chose the Indian channels and that I was kind.

Friday 28 March 2008

Today I made a difference when I was at basketball practice I saw a a guy that was struggling with his shooting and he was doing it completely wrong so I helped him out and showed him the right way of doing it. I know that I made a difference because the guy thanked me and because he played way better than usual and he won M.V.P (most valuable player) for his team.
I felt good that I made a difference in his life and that I helped him get better at something that he liked to play. I think that he felt relived that someone helped him because he knew he was doing it wrong but he didn't know how to do it right and I know he felt relived because I could see it in his face after he got the shot in.

Thursday 27 march 2008

Today i made a difference by playing with my 3-year old brother when my favorite show was on because I saw that he was bored. I know that I made a difference because when I finished playing with him he came and gave me a high 5. I felt good that I made a difference in his life and I felt happy that I made him happy. I think that he felt happy because he walked around in a good mood and with a smile on his face for the rest of the day.

As part of our Inquiry unit, Room 9 from New Zealand has decided to put our topic on Citizenship into practice. We have the challenge of performing one kind deed for each day for 17 days, starting from the 27th of March, 2008. Follow us as we blog our Citizenship journey.

A good citizen is someone who helps others even though it
inconveniences them, follows the rules and does something for someone without them asking. Someone who respects others.
